What LeBron James eats in a day

Being a top world-ranking athlete unavoidably comes with sticking to a healthy diet and working out to make sure you stay in great shape. There are no late night trips to McDonald’s for the very best of the best, especially during the training season. Fueling your body with the right foods is important for everyone, but for sports people, it is essential for keeping you at the top of your game.

NBA star LeBron James is one particular athlete who knows all too well about making sure he’s eating healthily, and boy does he eat a lot. Considering he is often labeled the best basketball player of all time, LeBron’s skills on the court fully rely on the food he eats on his plate. Here’s what LeBron loves to divulge in if you’ve ever wondered what kind of food you’ll find stocked in his fridge.

What does he eat for breakfast?

As the most important meal of the day, you would immediately think it’s strictly porridge on the menu, but LeBron doesn’t shy away from sugary cereals. Fruity Pebbles is his favorite, and Nike even designed some trainers in celebration of his love for the colorful morning treat. However, during game season, its a diet of more wholesome foods like shakes, granolas, and smoothies.

What about lunch and dinner?

LeBron is a pretty big guy, so we can only imagine his portion sizes are a little bigger than the average Joe, but his meals will rarely be a whole load of carbs. Instead, LeBron piles on the healthy fresh vegetables, only opting for small amounts of carbs like pasta to keep his energy up.

Along with the fruit and veg, LeBron likes to keep his protein intake high with lots of chicken and other lean poultry and fish. But this doesn’t mean he totally avoids the odd savory treat, as the star also revealed he loves tucking into a juicy steak now and again too. Believe it or not, but lobster is his absolute favorite, even mixing and tossing the succulent meat into a salad!

Does he treat himself to dessert too?

It’s no secret that LeBron has a serious case of the sweet tooth, always being seen posting pictures on his social media pages of his latest sugary indulgence. This means dessert is never an option, it’s a must! However, instead of opting for the sugar-packed treats, he likes to make sure he’s cutting the calories by choosing a healthier alternative when he can. He’s also been known to bake goodies for his Lakers teammates including kale cakes!

Of course during the off-season he will cut down on the sugar, ensuring that he’s only fueling his body with the healthiest energy, but we can certainly imagine him sneaking downstairs for a secret midnight peak in the fridge.

Any athlete is required to fuel their body and brain with proper food for the right nutrition, but that doesn’t mean they can’t feed their hearts too – no one should ever be deprived of the foods they love the most. It’s all about balancing what is good for you and what is not so good for you. Everyone has to pick themselves up a treat at the grocery sometimes, and it seems as though LeBron doesn’t avoid the goodie aisle either!
