Face masks are anyone’s best friend, they are a great way to nourish and look after your skin, giving it everything it needs to stay fresh, supple, and blemish-free. Of course, it can sometimes be a costly thing to do or something to be a little unsure of if you’re buying a face mask from the store. We’re living in a world today that is putting more emphasis on natural ingredients, and warning people from buying into some of the chemicals that may be a key ingredient in some of the manufactured face masks. However, if you make them yourself, you pretty much know exactly what you’re putting in it. Here are some great DIY face masks if you have dry skin.
Aloe vera and cucumber face mask
Aloe Vera is known for its protective and hydrating properties, many people use it to treat sunburns directly. However, you can also use it to treat dry skin; it’s got so many fantastic benefits aside from the hydration, it’s also known for helping smooth the skin and the appearance of aging lines. Cucumber is also filled with cleansing and hydrating properties, and if you also suffer from skin redness, then you can also use these products together for their cooling properties. All you need to do is get some aloe vera gel and some cucumber; cut half a cucumber into slices and blend them together until they are nice and watery. Then, all you need is two tablespoons of aloe vera gel and mix them together. Just apply the mask, wait for it to dry, wait half an hour, and then rinse off with cool water. Voila, soft, and hydrated skin!
Grape exfoliation face mask
Need a good exfoliation but don’t want to give up any of those hydrating properties? No problem, all you need is twelve grapes and some flour. Grapes have a very weak acid inside of them, which is what acts as the exfoliator, and helps to remove excess skin cells. The grapes are also filled with vitamin E, which helps to nourish and hydrate the skin. Just mash the 12 grapes together with one teaspoon of flour, this will make a paste that you will then apply to your face and allow to sit for at least 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water.
Oats, milk, and honey face mask
This face mask is not only a great way of hydrating dry skin, but it’s also a great way of treating acne naturally. Honey is excellent at keeping hydration in your skin while the oats and honey act as a natural way of helping acne. All you need is three tablespoons of dried oats, one tablespoon of whole milk and one tablespoon of organic honey. Mix the first two in the blender to make a paste before adding the honey and blending it again. Apply the mask and let it dry for twenty minutes before washing it off.
Shea butter and coconut oil face mask
There’s nothing more popular at the moment than these two ingredients, mainly because they work so well. They both have incredibly effective hydration properties, but also keep the face nice and elastic as well as evening out skin tone. You need one tablespoon of shea butter which you should add into a mixing bowl, add one tablespoon of coconut oil and stir together. If you want, you can even add some aloe vera to this mixture as long as it’s all smooth once put together. Let the mask dry on your face for at least 15 minutes before rinsing it off.
