Things you have to see your first time in Paris

The city of Paris is every girl’s dream destination. When you think of Paris, you think of kissing your crush on the Love Lock Bridge, being proposed to under the Eiffel Tower, and of course, eating your weight in cheese and baguettes all while wearing an adorable beret.

It may all sound silly and way too good to be true – but the truth is, Paris has all of that and more to offer. Paris is not only a passionate and beautiful city, but it’s also full of deep history. Paris is a city full of art, music, theatre, and excellent shopping.

So, if you’re thinking of going to Paris, you’ll definitely need to have a set itinerary because there is just too much to see! With all the elaborate museums, tasty restaurants, and historical secrets this city contains, consider spending at least a week here. And make sure to have these first-time Paris attractions on your agenda!

The Eiffel Tower

Of course, we all know what the Eiffel Tower is. It’s a massively huge structure that stands tall and strong above the city during the day and twinkles at night, illuminating the River Seine.

The tower is beautiful during the day, but at night when the lights spark, you’ll definitely want to be there. Take the long elevator ride and climb up to the top to see the city at a totally new angle. And definitely treat yourself to dinner at the top at one of the restaurants. That way, you can enjoy the view along with your meal, and you won’t feel rushed to take it all in.

We recommend getting tickets for this experience before you go so you won’t have to wait in long lines.

Pastries

Paris is known for its baked goods, and they come in all forms! From baguettes to eclairs, and macarons to crepes, you will be in a sugary doughy heaven! And, heck, you’re on vacation, so why not try them all?

The good thing about Paris is that these delicious morsels aren’t hard to find. There are boulangeries and patisseries around every corner of the city. And, if you don’t want to commit to relaxing inside a cafe, then treat yourself to a sweet-something from one of the many food carts. The quality is exceptional, and you can carry it around as you walk up and down the sides of the River Seine.

Champs-Elysees

Champs-Elysees is a world-renowned shopping spot. So, any shop-till-you-drop diva must put this avenue on her bucket list. No matter if you’re shopping for a luxury car, a designer purse, or a trendy pair of shoes, you can find it at one of the many stores on Champs-Elysees.

And if the shopping isn’t in your price range, then grab a latte from a local cafe and do some window-browsing. There are also scenic gardens and artsy monuments along this strip for you to enjoy.

The Louvre

Paris is known to be a very artsy city. People that go there are often shocked by the amount of street art being done in parks and by the sides of the river. And maybe that’s why Paris is the perfect home for one of the most famous art museums in the world, le Louvre.

Even if you are not an art-lover, the Louvre is a destination you have to experience. The museum is so big that there is no way to explore all of it in just one day. So it’s smart to hit the main pieces first, such as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, and then go from there.

Versaille Castle and Gardens

Ok, so this isn’t really in the city of Paris, but it’s definitely worth the day trip. This castle is everything your inner-princess has ever dreamed about. Its magnificent architecture is complimented by its beautifully-kept lush, green garden.

It’s the perfect place to wind-down from the noise of the city and breathe in the fresh air. We recommend bringing a picnic lunch and a good book to make the most out of this experience.
